Blackthorn Ultralight Tarp Namiot

I've been bicycle touring 2 months and a half (september till mid november) in central France, half of the time around 1000m elevation.
I've added a door to it, the OneWind Ultralight Ground Mat (size M), and it worked very good ! It really turns the Shelter into a mini tipi (as the groundsheet is not reinforced you MUST add elastic bungee cord at the four attachement corners). I've been into a violent thunderstorm, constant ligntning for 45 minutes, with strong gust of wind and heavy rain, and I was safe under the shelter, not a single drop of rain on me or my stuff.
If you need more height under the Shelter, simply add elastics bungee cords to all the attachment point, so you can have around 10 cm more height.
I also use the Shelter as a tarp above my 11 feet hammock, once again the groundsheet is required to add a little more length to cover it all (haven't tried under rain though)
A word for the cape function: It works well with a bike, very protective, BUT you need to get it attached to the bike with carabiners + elastics in front, back, and sides otherwise it will fly around. It's okay for few days of rain in a trip. In more rainy area you may want to consider a more heavy cape designed for bicycles.

I'm in love with this Shelter, it's very clever designed, I'm always surprised how this thing protects me, and makes a very small place anywhere in nature a home. I'm 1,87 m tall, of course I touch the sides both at feet and head, not a big deal if you have a synthetic sleeping bag, it dries very quickly. Or you can add a bivvy footbox to your gear.

See the pictures, it is remarquable how discreet this Shelter is, and how it can be pitch in absolutly tiny spaces.
Minimal configuration is 4 stakes, a walking stick and no guyline (even with some wind). That way it can be pitched in around 1 minute.

Fantastic hammock, highly recommended

This tarp comes with everything you need and is so versatile. Either open everything up and have a huge cover in the sun or the rain, or close it up and have a lot of privacy. Just did a test set up, and can’t wait to go serious camping. Lot to learn about guying out, and will test in Florida storms and gusty winds.

I really love the tarp, only downside on it are the pegs that follow with don't last long. Since companiea usually don't give you any when you buy a new tarp anyways then I can't really complain 😅, love the shock cords, the many ways you can put it up, easy to neatly store away the extra cord and if you're new to the tarp game andhaven't learned many knots yet, don't worry, with this tarp you won't need it! If you have trouble finding outwhere everything goes etc on the tarp search for Shug on youtube he goes unto this tarp in details and will show you the ropes, awesome hammock guy!

happy with my purchase, tested at 5 Celsius without any problems, for intensive use I doubt the elastic cords will do the job longtime...

Bought the whole setup, top quilt, under quilt, tarp, sleeve for hammock and tarp, the hammock itself, peak shelf, organizer, really everything for a comfy tour.
My wife is claustrophobic in hammocks, had to buy one for her as well now, were sleeping with the spreader bar on the same trees, just gazing at the night sky.
Really good quality, and great customer support too!

Well made, no leaves, handled 40+ mph winds like a pro.

Only thing I wish is for a larger size so there is more shade in porch mode.

Easy setup, good size for me at 5’10”. It fits well with my solitary cape shelter for an ultralight one men tent. This inner tent has a good quality of material and workmanship. Thank you for the great product.

I absolutely love this set up it’s so easy and lightweight it’s been so nice going to the woods for a couple of hours to relax and read a book and have a little sleep I can’t wait to sleep outside I forgot to bring my sleeping bag so next week I’m hitting the woods

I was looking for a large tarp to use with my 12' Onewind zipper hammock. I wanted one with doors for extra privacy and shelter for wind and rain. This is the one! It's super 👌🏻

Ive been using this tarp for the past few weeks as my primary shelter. Despite 4 days of continuous rain, it's kept my hammock dry. Being nylon, it does sag a little after getting soaked but thats to be expected. The design allows the ends to be closed off for prova8when camping at public campgrounds as well as when the direction of the rains change. The only improvement would be to add a few snaps to the ends to help better close them up
